Today, the Morehead Rowan County Rescue Squad is a thriving organization of over thirty members dedicated to helping others. We range from college students, to postal workers, and Paramedics. Together, we provide nearly every type of emergency service to the citizens of Rowan County. The services provided today are no different than those provided twenty years ago. Today however, the Morehead Rowan County Rescue Squad is the only agency in the county qualified to perform in heavy-duty rescue operations such as school bus wrecks, and many types of farm rescue.

The Morehead Rowan County Rescue Squad also has one of the best developed search and rescue operations in the state. The squad's members are each well trained in many aspects of SAR, from search techniques to search management. The agency also works in close conjunction with the Civil Air Patrol (CAP), the Kentucky Search Dog Association (KSDA), and Morehead Fire Rescue. Together with these organizations provides top quality search and rescue operations too much of Eastern Kentucky. In addition to its excellent search and rescue operations, the Morehead Rowan County Rescue Squad is also highly trained in water rescue and recovery. With seven active divers in the organization and a fleet of three boats, the Morehead Rowan County Rescue Squad is able to provide dependable, reliable services to those persons enjoying time on nearby Cave Run Lake.
